The new parliament is set to be sworn in on November 10. Despite Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party emerging as the largest with 27 seats, his pro-Netanyahu bloc secured only 53 seats, falling short of the majority needed to form a government. The anti-Netanyahu bloc garnered 48 seats, with Arab factions holding 19.

The final voter turnout was a significant 77.9 percent. Several smaller parties, including The Reservists and People of Israel, failed to cross the 3.25 percent electoral threshold.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog will receive the official results on November 4 and is expected to consult party representatives before nominating a candidate to form the next government. If the designated leader fails, an alternative figure might get the mandate. A failure to form a government within the stipulated timeframe could lead to fresh elections, highlighting the ongoing political complexities.

Amid these developments, reports indicate that Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich have met to coordinate efforts. Argentine President Javier Milei congratulated Netanyahu on what he termed a ‘great victory,’ emphasizing continued strategic alliance between their nations. However, the path to forming a stable government remains challenging, with discussions around unity governments and minority administrations underway, though many options appear unlikely given current political stances.
